Information Services seeks your feedback during a pilot of a system that will reduce the amount of effort you have to put into managing SPAM in your email.

We especially want your input if you are one of the people who is concerned that important messages may be lost because they are incorrectly tagged as SPAM. However we are also interested in feedback supporting the measures we are about to trial.

The pilot will take place between Thursday 10th April 2008 and the end of this semester, 31st May 2008. If the pilot is successful the measures will be put into place soon after the end of the pilot.

For full details of the measures that are to be trialled and the feedback that we would find helpful please go to http://www.is.stir.ac.uk/itsupport/email/SPAMpilot.php

New guide to how to search the FT online.

The Financial Times have made some significant changes to their licence, which determines how articles from the newspaper can be searched. It will no longer appear on the drop down box of sources when using LexisNexis Business and News. A guide is available which shows how to search the Financial Times. It is available at: http://www.is.stir.ac.uk/docs/FinancialTimeshelp.pdf

The Financial Times is still fully available from 1982 onwards on LexisNexis Business and News.

Please contact the Information Centre on 01786 46(7235) or infocentre@stir.ac.uk if you have any problems.
