As previously advertised, the Stirling campus Library will be closed from 25th-29th August for the transfer of services and stock to the New Library.
Â
During the 3 day period, Wed 25th -Friday 27th, the Information Centre (IT desk) will remain open though with a reduced staff and only one phone line 01786 46(7250).
Â
The best way to ensure a response during this period is to email us on infocentre@stir.ac.uk as we will be able to monitor email from out with the service area.
Â
If you have a library borrowing enquiry please email circ@stir.ac.uk or if you have a general library enquiry, use library@stir.ac.uk
Â
There will be no walk in access to the desks.
Â
We hope that you will bear with us during this transfer period and come and visit us in our shiny new Information Centre in the new library after Monday 30th August.
Â
Kind regards

Information Services
The Portal will be unavailable from 4pm Saturday 21st August 2010 until 2pm Sunday 22nd August 2010 due to essential maintenance. However there is a possibility that service will resume
before 2pm on Sunday.
Â
This will affect the majority of online Student and Staff portal services. However, WebCT and access to library resources will still be available to all students via alternative links which will be accessible from the portal home page. Turnitin will be available via http://webct.stir.ac.uk
Â
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
Â
Regards,
Information Services
WebCT will not be available from 6pm – 10pm on Saturday 4th September to install several service packs. TurnitinUK is also being upgraded on the same day and also will not be available between 6pm Saturday 4th and 2am Sunday 5th.
The timing for the TurnitinUK upgrade is outside of the University’s control. The exact timing of the
WebCT upgrade may be subject to some change but I’ve been trying to synchronise the timings as much as possible.
Service packs do not introduce new features but rather are bugs fixes and installing these service packs will also improve WebCT’s browser support.
The Turnitin upgrade introduces new features for feedback, online marking and peer review.

The new Library building on Stirling Campus will open on Monday 30 August 2010. Since the building was handed back to the university in May 2010, we have been busy moving books, equipment, services and
staff back inside.
Most of this work has been happening in the background throughout the summer, but we will close the Interim Library from Wednesday 25 August to allow us to reopen in the new building on Monday 30
August.
During this period, the remaining interim library stock and the services will be relocated.
We hope that this will not cause too much inconvenience as all the Library electronic resources will still be accessible via the portal and the Study Zone (temporary building next to Library) will remain open
up until the new library opens.
You can see pictures of the Library on our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/University-of-Stirling-New-Library-Project/52701324641
When the Library is open there will be regular tours for anyone who is interested.
